CMC

The CMC (Colour Measurement Committee of the Society of Dyers and Colourists of Great Britain) established an equation in 1984, based on LCh values. Its application area is primarily the textile industry, which is why, in addition to the factors of lightness and saturation, a “commercial factor” is also taken into account. For example, a value of cf = 1 is specified, which means that “Delta E CMC < 1” would be acceptable.
The CMC tolerance (Colour Measurement Committee) is a color distance evaluation system based on the CIELab color space. It was developed in 1988 by the Colour Measurement Committee of the Society of Dyers and Colourists and takes into account human color perception, particularly the differing sensitivity to hue, saturation, and lightness.
