The colour of pharmaceutical powders such as sorbitol, microcrystalline cellulose or anhydrous dibasic calcium phosphate is often measured as an incoming goods inspection to ensure batch consistency. The preferred method for analyzing powders is reflectance measurement.
The measurement is explained very simply and compactly:
First fill a cuvette with the sample. Carefully tap the cuvette once briefly on a hard surface so that the powder settles a little and then place it on the aperture so that the powder can be measured through the glass bottom of the cuvette. (Make sure that no powder gets onto the aperture!)
The color measurement is triggered at the touch of a button and the measured values are shown directly on the display.
Whatever type of powder you want to measure, HunterLab spectrophotometers guarantee a visually consistent appearance and underline your quality standards.
