Color measurement of liquid pharmaceutical products
Liquid medicinal products include solutions, suspensions, emulsions, syrups, drops, infusions and the contents of gel capsules. Cold remedies such as cough syrup, nasal spray or homeopathic drops as well as solutions and infusions. Doctors, pharmacists and patients also assess the effect of a medicine in terms of its color and appearance.
If this differs from the usual appearance, a lack of quality or limited shelf life is assumed. In the case of liquid APIs, injectables and other liquid proteins, compliance with pharmaceutical guidelines is also important.
