Unlike the XYZ color space, it is equidistant and consists of the brightness axis L*, the red\/green axis a*, and the yellow\/blue axis b*. Based on the opponent color theory, the coordinates in the diagram are aligned with human color perception.<br \/>\nThe CIE L*, a*, b* color space (from 1976) is a three-dimensional space in which all colors can be uniquely assigned (localized) according to human perception. This system was developed in 1976 by the \u201cCommission Internationale de L\u2019\u00c9clairage\u201d based on the Hunter L, a, b color space. This space is defined by three axes according to the opponent color theory: the L* axis for lightness (from black to white), the a* axis from green to red, and the b* axis from blue to yellow. Over time, several three-dimensional color spaces have been developed, but in the CIE L*, a*, b* color space, color distances perceived as equal by humans across different hues are best quantified as equal distances.<\/p>\n<p>Der CIE L*, a*, b* -Farbraum (von 1976) ist ein dreidimensionaler Raum, in dem passend zur menschlichen Wahrnehmung alle Farben eindeutig zugeordnet (verortet) werden k\u00f6nnen.
